Peer-to-peer networks spread adaptation quickly

Communities learn faster when they share directly with each other.

Knowledge often spreads best from peer to peer. Farmers sharing drought strategies, local groups swapping ideas about fire preparedness, or volunteers trading lessons across regions — these exchanges move fast and build trust. Peer-to-peer networks spread adaptation because they are grounded in lived experience. They feel relevant, achievable, and authentic. Formal systems may provide frameworks, but it is often peers who inspire action. Resilience grows when peer networks are nurtured and supported.
